What's in your handbag?

If you are constantly struggling to find something in your handbag or your bag is so heavy it gives you shoulder pain… it’s time to give your handbag a makeover.

Here are three easy steps:

1.    Downsize.

The bigger the handbag, the more you are likely to pile into it.  By using a smaller bag that can only fit your essentials, you reduce the chances of ending up with a cluttered, backbreaking weapon.

2.    Simplify.
Empty your handbag.  I bet there are things in there you didn’t even know you had in there, right?  Now, separate the things you really need from the ones you don’t.  For those who still find it difficult to determine what you ACTUALLY need, here is a list:

Essentials:  wallet, cellphone, keys and sunglasses
Really helpful to include:  glossy lip balm or lipstick, a small decanted container of sunblock, breath mints, a tampon, a few tissues, a small tube of hand cream, a pen and a folded up plastic bag for an unexpected food shop.  If you only have big tubes, get small travel size containers to decant into to.  Woolworths has great ones available.
Necessary for work:  If you need to carry your tablet with you, make sure your bag is big enough (but not too big) for it.

3.    Organise.
Compartments make it easier to organise your handbag.  Look for handbags that already have compartments or consider getting a handbag organiser. You can get them at Woolworths or various handbag stores. It also makes switching handbags simpler and faster.  Put your essentials in your handbag organiser, so when you switch you don’t get to the till with a full trolly only to realize your wallet is in your other bag.  Eeeek!
