Daisy-May Demetre from Birmingham in the UK is reportedly the first double amputee child model to ever brace the New York Fashion Week runway, NBCNews reported.
The runway model was born with fibular hemimelia, a debilitating birth defect, and had both her legs amputated when she was only 18-months-old. But that didn’t stop her from pursuing her dreams, BBC reported.
Daisy-May’s father, Alex, described his daughter’s latest achievement as amazing and added that she felt proud of herself.
“History in the making. The first double amputee child to walk New York Fashion Week,” Daisy-May captioned an Instagram clip of herself on the runway.
Daisy-May started her modelling career last year and she’s graced the runway at the London Kids Fashion Festival. She’ll soon stride down the runway at the Kids Fashion Week Paris.
