He’s just welcomed his eighth child but the baby joy has been eclipsed by the news that the actor may be heading to court.
Alec Baldwin is likely to face criminal charges for accidentally shooting and killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins (42) while filming the movie Rust in New Mexico last October.
Prosecutors are reportedly preparing to file charges against the 64-year-old, who was seen looking defeated earlier this week.
The actor appeared grim and had large bags under his eyes as he took a phone call while out with his kids in Domino Park in Brooklyn, New York.
The news comes after he handed over his cellphone to authorities as evidence in the shooting case.
In a letter to New Mexico’s financial board, asking for funding to prosecute the high-profile case, Santa Fe District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies said she was “ready” to file charges against four people.
She stopped short of confirming the charges she planned to bring but said she was “certainly looking at all the homicide statutes and any gun statutes under New Mexico criminal code”.
“One of the possible defendants is well-known movie actor Alec Baldwin,” she wrote.

Alec, who has previously said that his “heart has been broken a thousand times this past year” from the tragedy, is said to be already racking up hefty legal bills as he also faces a wrongful death lawsuit from Halyna's family.
In recent months he's sold some of his homes, and his mansion in the Hamptons, Long Island, is now on the market for $29 million (R518m).
Earlier this month a judge ruled that Alec was primarily responsible for firing the shot that killed the 42-year-old mom-of-one.
Alec fired what he said he thought was a prop gun, but which contained a live round, wounding director Joel Souza and killing the cinematographer.

He convinced the cast and crew to finish filming the movie in Halyna’s honour and to have the proceeds from the movie's profits go to her husband, Matthew Hutchins, and their nine-year-old son.
The latest development comes just days after Alec and his yoga instructor wife, Hilaria Baldwin, welcomed their seventh child - and his eighth - daughter Ilaria Catalina Irena Baldwin.
She joins siblings Carmen (9), Rafael (7), Leonardo (5), Romeo (4), Eduardo (23 months) and Lucia (18 months), who they had via a surrogate.
Alec also has a daughter Ireland (26) with actress Kim Basinger.

Social media users slammed the couple's use of a Spanish name for their newborn after US-born Hilaria was caught out last year faking her Spanish heritage.
“Alec and Hilaria Baldwin have named their seventh child Ilaria. Which is kind of ilarious,” a user tweeted.
“Fake Spanish name from Boston-born mom,” said another.
