It seems a lot can happen in a year.

After a slew of horrific allegations surfaced against actor Armie Hammer, his estranged wife, Elizabeth Chambers, expressed her support for the victims of his sexually aggressive and disturbing behaviour.

Now it seems Armie and TV personality Elizabeth are looking to reconcile. They share two children, Harper (7) and Ford (4).

“Elizabeth's priority has always been her children and their well-being,” a source says.

The past year hasn’t been easy on them, but Elizabeth (39) and Armie (35) have always had love for each other, the insider adds.

“They're slowly figuring things out as a couple, but being parents to their two kids will always come first.”

The pair’s marital problems started last year when several women accused The Call Me by Your Name actor of emotional abuse, manipulation and violence.

One of the women also shared screenshots of her explicit texts with Armie, in which he reportedly discusses rape fantasies and cannibalism.

Armie denied the claims in a statement, bluntly describing them as “bull****”.

"All interactions between Mr Hammer and his former partners were consensual," the statement read.

The controversy nearly ended his career and his 10-year marriage. Elizabeth filed for divorce in the wake of the scandal, but it's not known if she now plans to go through with it.

“Elizabeth has always loved him,” another insider says.

“He is really the love of her life.

“They obviously had a lot of issues, but Armie’s rehab stay showed that he’s committed to big changes."

The actor checked into a rehab facility to treat his addiction to sex, booze and drugs. He left the treatment facility after nine months to spend the December holidays with his kids, and is continuing with out-patient treatment while he and Elizabeth figure things out.

"They get along and enjoy hanging out with the kids," the source says.

His marriage may be back on track but it remains to be seen if he can revive his high-flying Hollywood career.

Armie's talent agency dropped him following the allegations, and he lost several movie roles.

Though Josh Duhamel replaced Armie in Jennifer Lopez’s Shotgun Wedding, he'd already finished filming Kenneth Branagh’s new film, Death on the Nile. Armie plays a man caught up in a love triangle in the mystery thriller, which is a remake based on the Agatha Christie novel.
