George Clooney likes being the boss on set!
The award-winning filmmaker says being in the director's chair is "more fun" than being in front of the camera.
"You have a lot more control. I get to boss them around and I don’t have to learn to row,” he said, referring to his movie The Boys in the Boat.
The film, which stars Joel Edgerton and Callum Turner, tells the true story of the University of Washington’s 1936 rowing team and their journey to the Berlin Olympics held in Nazi Germany.
“It’s fun to come in in the morning and it’s fun to write a screenplay and then have somebody build a set that you wrote, it really is,” George told Sky News.

The 62-year-old said he's learned a lot from his experiences on TV and film sets.
"I've been on sets with miserable directors. I've been on sets with directors who yell and scream. To me, it doesn't matter what the product is at that point.
"This is a job where there's 300 people on the set trying to do their best. There is no reason and no purpose for people to be mistreated. I hate it and I won't do it.
"I've had directors who I like personally, but I know them reputationally, and within the last few months they've come to me and said, 'When are we going to work together?'
"And I go, 'We're never going to work together, dude. I think you're great, but I'll never work with you because you're mean and I can't be around it'."

George made his directorial debut with Confessions of a Dangerous Mind in 2002, and has since directed several more movies, including Good Night and Good Luck (2005), Leatherheads (2008), The Ides of March (2011) and The Tender Bar (2021), many of which were Oscar-nominated.
George, whose behind-the-scenes work also includes screenwriting and producing, said he values the many roles he's been able to explore.
"As you get older, you need to have other things to do. You can't just do one thing.
“I'm lucky because I'm 62 and I get to do the stuff I love and a lot of people don't get that. I'm well aware of it and I celebrate it because, you know, if I'm not having fun, I think people would be really p*** off.”
Fans, needn't worry that they'll only be seeing George on the red carpet - he has no intention of quitting acting.
His next on-camera role will be in Wolfs, opposite his Ocean's 11 co-star Brad Pitt.
“I still like acting, I have fun," quipped George. "I just did a film with Brad Pitt, he’s an up-and-coming actor.”
