Just weeks after her ex-husband Ben Affleck tied the knot, Jennifer Garner is fuelling wedding buzz of her own.
The actress was recently spotted running errands with her son, Samuel, in Los Angeles, but all anyone could see as they held hands was the rock on Jen's finger. Rumours are now swirling that the Peppermint star has gotten engaged to her beau John Miller.
The pair were first romantically linked in May 2018 following Jen’s split from Ben. However, Jen and John broke up before LA went into lockdown in 2020, reportedly because they couldn’t see eye to eye on the future of their relationship.
“He was ready for marriage, and she just couldn’t commit,” a source says of their August 2020 split. “They parted on very amicable terms.”
The pair decided to give their relationship another try a year ago, and according to an insider things are going so well they're seriously considering settling down together.
“John and Jen are in similar places in their lives and can relate to raising kids after a divorce,” a source close to the couple says. “They’re on the same page and understand where things stand.”
Insiders say John, the chairman and CEO of retail development company Cali Group, is warm, fun and incredibly smart – and very much outside of showbiz, which is exactly what Jen wanted.
“He’s a real success in the business world and has no interest in being in the entertainment industry.”
Still, the couple have a lot in common: both are divorced parents, who have made sure to co-parent as amicably as possible with their exes.
Jennifer (49) has daughters Violet (15) and Seraphina (12) and son Samuel (9) with Ben (49), and John (44) has two children from his marriage to Caroline Campbell.
“Jen brings out the best in John, and he is the happiest he has probably ever been. It’s a loving, healthy relationship,” a seperate source says.
Notoriously private Jen is yet to confirm she’s dating John, and insiders say even their date nights have been planned around keeping their romance as low-key as possible.
“They meet at each other’s houses — even for a quick glass of wine or for a low-key dinner date night away from prying eyes.”
Protecting her family’s privacy has always been a priority for the former Alias star. In the past, Jen has spoken at length about how the paparazzi and tabloid headlines have affected her children over the years.
“When they were smaller and there were things out there that were shocking, my request to them was always, ‘Let Dad and I talk you through whatever it is',” she told The Hollywood Reporter.
“I’d tell them, ‘If you see an image on the front of a magazine, I’ll look at it with you and we’ll process all the scary feelings that come up together.'"
