Cone bras, crop tops and corsets – when it comes to fashion, nothing is too outrageous or over the top for the Queen of Pop.

Madonna has pushed boundaries and set trends during her four decades in the music industry.

Ahead of her Celebration World Tour, the 64-year-old singer has reflected on her fashion legacy, sharing snapshots of a range of pieces from her concert tours over the years, including her iconic Jean Paul Gaultier cone bras and corsets, a cut-out blazer and a bejewelled corset from her Re-Invention, Blond Ambition and Madame X tours.

“A trip to my archives is always a nostalgic trip down memory lane," she said on social media.

"If I think about my journey through music over the last four decades, how could I not think about all the incredible clothes I got to wear and all the amazing designers I was lucky enough to work with."

Here's a look at some of her most iconic looks through the years.

If there's one thing that's become synonymous with the popstar, it's her collection of classic cone bras and corsets.

The singer got people talking when she popularised – and sexualised – wedding attire in 1985, by wearing white lace, rosary beads, and gloves for her Like A Virgin music video. The controversial look was inspired by her Catholic upbringing and the idea of mixing innocence with sexuality, she said.

She's worked with several fashion houses over the years, and one of her favourite designers is Jean Paul Gaultier, who not only made many of her cone bras but also created custom outfits using a combination of Hollywood glamour and 1980s street style.

She's the first to admit her closet of designer clothes is a far cry from her childhood when her mom scraped money together to buy the family winter clothing while she went without.

"She always spent what little money we had on our coats, and I remember standing outside waiting for the school bus with my mother shivering in the cold in the middle of winter," she said.

When Madonna made it big in the music business, her aunt told her, “Now you can buy all the coats your mother couldn’t buy for herself.”
