The bombastic US president spent yet another year shooting from the hip on the popular social media site and probably suffered a few calluses as his Twitter fingers kept busy in 2017.
He used his favourite social media platform to lash out at everyone from well-known political enemies like Barack Obama and Hilary Clinton, his arch nemesis the bomb-obsessed North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un and the US media who he claims are out to get to him.
Here are a few of The Don’s most sensational tweets in 2017:
Meryl Streep, one of the most over-rated actresses in Hollywood, doesn't know me but attacked last night at the Golden Globes. She is a.....

Hillary flunky who lost big. For the 100th time, I never "mocked" a disabled reporter (would never do that) but simply showed him.......
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 9, 2017
This after Meryl Streep criticised him for his election campaign during her acceptance speech for the Golden Globe lifetime achievement award.
.@NBCNews is bad but Saturday Night Live is the worst of NBC. Not funny, cast is terrible, always a complete hit job. Really bad television!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 15, 2017
Trump’s reaction to the popular satire show, especially actor Alec Baldwin’s hilarious impersonation of the president.
Iran is playing with fire - they don't appreciate how "kind" President Obama was to them. Not me!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 3, 2017
In one particularly damning sketch, a reporter tells the president (Alec Baldwin) that “people can die” if Obamacare is repealed - to which he responds, “Listen here sweetie, I'm about to be president, we're all going to die.”
My daughter Ivanka has been treated so unfairly by @Nordstrom. She is a great person -- always pushing me to do the right thing! Terrible!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 8, 2017
I am so proud of my daughter Ivanka. To be abused and treated so badly by the media, and to still hold her head so high, is truly wonderful!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 11, 2017
Trump, who’s been accused of nepotism on numerous occasions was once again upset with the media after they reported that the retail chain would no longer stock his daughter's clothing range due to a drop in sales.
FBI Director Comey was the best thing that ever happened to Hillary Clinton in that he gave her a free pass for many bad deeds! The phony...
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 3, 2017
Comey, whom he eventually fired, was a key figure in the president’s feud with the US’s law enforcement agencies’ investigation into possible links between his election campaign and Russia, whose cyber-attack negatively affected Hilary Clinton’s campaign.
Crooked Hillary Clinton spent hundreds of millions of dollars more on Presidential Election than I did. Facebook was on her side, not mine!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 21, 2017
Clinton’s use of her personal email account for state business while she was the countries foreign affairs minister was an alleged safety risk and was thoroughly investigated by US authorities. Trump’s team then focused on claims that she had tried to cover up her mistake.
Crooked Hillary Clinton is the worst (and biggest) loser of all time. She just can’t stop, which is so good for the Republican Party. Hillary, get on with your life and give it another try in three years!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 18, 2017
After the democrat published her book, with interesting revelations about her and Trump's very different election campaigns.
Why would Kim Jong-un insult me by calling me "old," when I would NEVER call him "short and fat?" Oh well, I try so hard to be his friend - and maybe someday that will happen!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 12, 2017
The????has great strength & patience, but if it is forced to defend itself or its allies, we will have no choice but to totally destroy #NoKo. pic.twitter.com/P4vAanXvgm
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 19, 2017
On more than one occasion Trump used Twitter to further escalate the tension between the West and the North Korean dictator, instead of attempting to diffuse the situation. The White House has also been called on several timesto confirm that the US is not declaring war on North Korea or trying to invade the country.
I love the White House, one of the most beautiful buildings (homes) I have ever seen. But Fake News said I called it a dump - TOTALLY UNTRUE
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 3, 2017
'People want protection and a wall protects. All you have to do is ask Israel...' @realDonaldTrump pic.twitter.com/QeTbiJpaDY
— President Trump (@POTUS) January 27, 2017
The WALL, which is already under construction in the form of new renovation of old and existing fences and walls, will continue to be built.
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 14, 2017
Due to cost restrictions, White House resistance and deteriorating relations between government factions Trump was forced to scale down all of his fiery election promises – such as the wall he had promised to build to keep Mexicans out of American.
For eight years Russia "ran over" President Obama, got stronger and stronger, picked-off Crimea and added missiles. Weak! @foxandfriends
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 7, 2017
Trump was initially wild about his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin. But this past April he let Tomahawk missiles rain down on a Syrian air force base – as a message to dictator Basjir al-Assad after his alleged poisonous gas attack on women and children in rebel areas. Ivanka had apparently called on her father to retaliate. As a result, there was a great deal of tension between Putin, an ally of Assad’s, and the US president.
How low has President Obama gone to tapp my phones during the very sacred election process. This is Nixon/Watergate. Bad (or sick) guy!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 4, 2017
Although Trump simply tweeted – and stated as a fact – something which he’d heard from someone there is still no proof that Obama had given such an order.
I don’t blame China, I blame the incompetence of past Admins for allowing China to take advantage of the U.S. on trade leading up to a point where the U.S. is losing $100's of billions. How can you blame China for taking advantage of people that had no clue? I would've done same!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 9, 2017
With his official visit to China last month, there was little talk of his previous criticism of the country's questionable trade practices.
My use of social media is not Presidential - it’s MODERN DAY PRESIDENTIAL. Make America Great Again!
