Family devastated after three-year-old twins die in a horrific house fire

An Australian family is devastated after twin sisters (3) were killed in a fire that destroyed their home.

Police were called to a home in New South Wales, Australia, on Monday following reports of a house fire, according to 9 News.

 Firefighters who arrived on the scene forced their way into the home and dragged the twins, Aisha and Lailani, out of the flame-engulfed home.

Their mother, Tanyka Ford, and five-year-old brother watched on as officers tried to revive the girls, but despite all efforts to save them, the sisters died at the scene.

Superintendent Bob Noble said the family must be going through an unimaginable time.

“Obviously it’s a particularly horrific incident. The lives of two young girls having been lost, the family and so forth, friends of the family are quite rightly distraught as are neighbours,” he told news.com.au.

Their uncle Levi Ford, has set up a GoFundMe page to provide “clothes, food and other things” to Tanyka and the twins’ brother.

“My sister tragically lost her twin daughters in a house fire, which claimed not only the lives of these two young children but also their home and belongings,” the page read.

“Her son has lost all the belongings including toys and clothing. Losing everything is hard enough without having to worry about financials. Anything no matter how small would be appreciated.”

The girls’ grandfather Wayne Allen, took to Facebook to share an emotional tribute.

“The twin girls who [passed] away in this tragic fire early this morning were my granddaughters Aisha and Lailani. It's just so hard to believe they’re gone. RIP Little Princesses,” he wrote.

The cause of the fire is unknown and will be investigated.
