After having both of her fallopian tubes removed, Savannah Blouin (22) from Connecticut in the United States decided to use them to make herself a necklace.
She documented the process in one of her TikTok videos, which now has over 3,1 million views.
“Although it wasn’t the original intent, I feel very empowered while wearing the necklace,” she told a news outlet.
She explains that instead of electing to have her tubes tied she opted to have them removed altogether because she doesn't ever want to have children.
The waitress decided to undergo the procedure after the US Supreme Court overturned abortion laws, which meant that some states would either ban abortion or enforce stricter laws against it.
Savannah says she doesn’t want kids and so having her tubes removed will bring her peace.
“I’m scared I won’t be able to get this surgery done when I actually want it, so I got it done preventatively," she explains.
She underwent surgery in July and asked if she could keep her fallopian tubes. After they were medically tested, they were returned to her two weeks later.
Savannah then headed to a craft store where she asked for her fallopian tubes to be encased in resin. Apparently the shop assistant “was completely unfazed by the organic matter’’. The resin-infused tubes were then placed on chains that Savanah wears around her neck.

One of her TikTok followers asked her if she would regret the decision to have her tubes removed.
“No, I don’t think I will regret it. And I have good reasons as to why,” she says.
“I never wanted kids. My brother made me cry when I was younger by saying my mom’s going to hate me because I wouldn’t have grandkids for her. She’s super supportive so that’s great.”
Savannah does, however, have four rats which she claims make the best grandchildren.
“I never wanted kids so I’m very sure of the decision. But with that said, I am not confident in the state of the world. And I can’t imagine bringing a person into this world.
"I find it selfish for the way that I think about it. I don’t think other people are selfish for bringing kids into the world. I think with the way that I view the world it would be selfish if I did it.”
