Life's a beach and that's reason enough for this group of grannies to hit the surf every Friday. 

The Nahoon Granny Grommets from East London are a group of 34 women aged 50 and older who can be found on their boogie boards at Nahoon Beach every week, come rain or shine.

The group was founded by Julie Schroeter (61) in August this year after she told her friend, Lee-Ann Lavender (57), that she wanted to start a boogie boarding group for grannies.
