Their new social shopping hub #SpreeGallery invites users to share images of themselves wearing items of clothing bought on the site.

Online shoppers can also upload their pictures via Twitter and Instagram, using the hashtag #spreecoza or #spreequlatiy, or could tag the handle @spree.co.za.

After the spree team approves the images for display in the Spree gallery, users can then browse the website and latest iOS and Android apps for their fashionable outfit images.

The uploaded snaps are linked to similar products on Spree, which means that you’re just a click away from adding it to your cart if you find the suggested item of clothing trendy.

The new platform also allows shoppers to shop straight out of Spree’s Instagram account by following the link Shopinsta.spree.co.za.

Ester Hoogstad, the online fashion retailer’s Head of Customer Interaction and Marketing, says that Spree has always had a ‘huge appetite’ for making their customer’s journey easy and fun.

We can now all participate in creating fashion by snapping ourselves and sharing the images,” says Ester.

“The #SpreeGallery further allows us to put great content at the heart of our strategy and engage in a more meaningful and authentic way with, and through, our customers.”

By launching this platform, Ester believes that the online retailer is aligning themselves with global trends while still putting the customers’ needs first.

“Shoppers are now creating and curating visual content related to their purchases, and fashion has a very obvious high-quality shareability opportunity,” she says.

“Social media and reviews have changed the way people shop and we want to encourage our customers to share their looks and be inspired by one another.

“We’re very excited to launch a platform for our customers to share content which is both powerful and displays an authenticity that sets us apart from many other retailers in SA.”

The #SpreeGallery went live Thursday 5 April 2018.
