This adorable toddler has caught the attention of Queen Elizabeth – and it's easy to see why.

Two-year-old Jalayne Sutherland from Kentucky in the US recently received a letter from Her Majesty about her regal outfit.

This comes after the toddler's mom, Katelyn Sutherland, dressed up the little one in a sky-blue double-breasted overcoat with matching hat and pearls for Halloween.

To complete her royal look, Jalayne’s closest companions, corgis Rascal and Jack, posed for the snap beside her.

“The biggest inspiration for the outfit was the fact that our dogs are our daughter's best friends,” says Katelyn who admits she's the queen's biggest fan.

“We wanted to do something where they could be included.

"We are most definitely fans of the royal family and truly admire how the queen walks by faith.”

When Jalayne went trick-or-treating most people curtsied, says the proud mom.

“We received many, many compliments but my favourite reactions were when people bowed to her or did the royal wave and said, ‘Your Majesty!’”

The toddler also managed to perfect the queen's royal wave – something her mom and dad, Aaron, are extremely proud of.

“And she highly expects to be treated as a princess – or a queen, I should say,” Katelyn chuckles.

Katelyn was inspired to contact the queen after sharing a picture of her dressed-up daughter on social media.

“It kind of just exploded,” she says. “So many people were reaching out and were like, ‘You’ve got to find a way, the queen has to see this picture.’”

That’s when she sent the picture of Jalayne beside her beloved corgis to Her Majesty.

She didn't really expect a response “because it was the week she wasn’t feeling well,” Katelyn says.

“We didn’t hear anything back until two days after Christmas.”

While sifting through their mail, the parents were surprised to stumble across an envelope marked ‘Royal Mail’.

“The Queen wishes me to write and thank you for your letter, and for the photograph you thoughtfully enclosed,” reads the letter from the Honorary Dame Mary Morrison, a lady-in-waiting for the queen.

“Her Majesty thought it kind of you to write to her, and The Queen was pleased to see the photograph of your daughter, Jalayne, in her splendid outfit.”

They're thrilled by the response, Katelyn says. “It's something that we will cherish forever.”

The devoted mom is already planning Jalayne’s Halloween costume for next year and says the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle is a hot favourite.

For now she hopes her daughter's pictures will continue to bring joy to many people.

“The biggest response that I’ve appreciated from everybody is they keep saying that with all the negativity in the world, this is one thing that brings a little brightness.”
