4 inter-seasonal dressing must-haves

accreditation
With crazy weather patterns, inter-seasonal dressing is the order of the day, but how do you pull it all together?  A few key items in your wardrobe will help you create a comfortable and stylish look no matter what the weather.

- Dresses you can layer:  You probably have dresses in your wardrobe that you can easily layer to suit various weather.

To add a little warmth to your favourite dress, team it with ankle boots and a fitted jacket.  If it gets warm during the day, simply remove your jacket.

If you are looking for dresses to add to your wardrobe, opt for colours, prints and fabrics that you can wear now and into winter to maximize the wearablilty.

- Ankle boots:  Ankle boots are both fashionable and practical as you can wear them with skirts, dresses, over skinny trousers, under slim or bootleg trousers.

When you wear ankle boots with dresses and skirts, you need to wear your hemlines a little shorter than usual so you don’t make your legs look shorter.

If you don’t like to show off your legs, simply wear tights in the same colour as your boots for an elongated look.  When you wear ankle boots with skinnies, the boot offers a sense of balance to your curves as create a mock 'bootleg' look.

This offers greater balance to your widest point. They can also make your legs look longer and slimmer if your trousers and boots are the same colour.

- ¾ Sleeves: These are fabulous to give you a little extra coverage on chilly days.  The length of the ¾ sleeve is not important, but the shape is.

Fitted ¾ sleeves are often more slimming than fuller sleeves as they can add extra bulk to your waist.

You can also layer ¾ sleeves over long sleeves when the weather gets really chilly or simply add a long sleeve jacket over your ¾ sleeves for extra warmth.

- A fitted jacket:  When shopping for your perfect jacket, you need to decide on what colour and style will work best for you.  Consider your personal style.

Are you a smart or casual dresser?  A tailored jacket will work best for a smart dresser, but a denim or leather jacket would work better for a casual dresser.

Do you wear lots of colour and print or do you mostly wear neutral colours?  If you are a neutral girl, a bold colour jacket will make your look pop, but if you wear lots of colour and print, a neutral jacket will work best.

Your jacket needs to go with most of your wardrobe, so you can simply through it on without having to think too much about it.
