American Horror Story actress Jamie Brewer strutted her stuff on the New York Fashion Week: Spring 2015 runway, making her the first woman with Down Syndrome to do so.
The 30-year-old actress made her way on the runway wearing a Carrie Hammer original as part of Carrie's "Role Models Not Runway Models" campaign. The movement has been up and running since Carrie was asked to debut her line at last year’s Fashion Week.
Carrie Hammer co-founded Changing the Face of Beauty, a NGO which aims for the media to include people with disabilities, along with supplying role models to children and other people who are living with disabilities.
I must say that I am personally impressed with the amazing direction the fashion industry is heading in. From so called "plus-size" models and organizations such as these, the industry is definitely changing.
As for what Jenner’s look will be, Carrie is working on something inspired by American Horror Story.
"AHS is dark, scary, bewitching so we had to go with black and Jamie has a beautiful body with a teeny waist and curves and we went with an A-line,"
How infectious is the smile of @MsJamieBrewer?! Loved watching the @AHSFX actress today! #RoleModelsNotRunwayModels pic.twitter.com/AJZjUDahz7

"It's amazing, it's really neat. Many women have so many sides to their personality, this dress fits...mine, I am honored to be in it." Jamie expressed her excitement.
