The Lord of the Rings trilogy is certainly one of the most epic works of fantasy fiction and one that appears on countless numbers of "100 books to read before you die" lists.
Love it or hate it (to some it certainly is a challenging read; especially if you're not a fan of books that develop at a slow pace), the books certainly have some of the most memorable and relatable characters created in fiction.
We asked you to tell us which character you relate to most. Here's what you had to say.
@Maneden: Eowyn. She fears a cage and being made into something she is not. She is always sidelined.
@shahil: Tom Bombadil -neither of us are in the movies :P
@HomeLoanKing: #LOTR Definitely the gorgeous redhead. #VivaRed
@riaang2002: Peregrin Took, because I love beer just as much.
@Lousteyl: I'd say I'm most like Samwise Gamgee, becuase I am fiercely loyal and feel responsible for everyone else in my life.
@robyncoetzer: Most definitely identify with Aragon. He's quiet and observant and can be depended on when the going gets tough.
@nannaventer: Gandalf. Because even after 2000 years he was still fighting the good fight
@ClaymoreZA: Totally Sam. Love my food, a follower not a leader, and loyal and reliable.
@liliradloff Galadriel in my dreams, but honestly? Probably Rosie Cotton.
@JahniCowley @liliradloff: We are all secretly Galadriel. My favourite is Bilbo Baggins. Only a legend freaks out over bling like that.
@tamaritabekker: Definitely Galadriel. Both my mum and I wanted to be the Elf Queen if we could choose a character. Before my mum passed, she used to give me spiritual advice just as Galadriel gives to Frodo!
@JellyBeanie4: Eowyn. She was stereotyped into a nurturer only role, but she proved herself a warrior in battle (work in my case)
@princessruw: I identify with Hobbit Frodo Baggins character the most because of his strong determination & courage.
@princessruw: The Hobbit Frodo Baggins; because he inherits the ring & goes through extremes to prevent it from getting into the wrong hands.
@Firefly_lalala: I am definitely a Smeagol. I see something pretty (make up, dress) and I go into a frenzy. "My precioussss" until I can somehow get it!
