A Japanese underwear line has developed a bra that only unclasps if it deems the wearer to be in love.
Sensors are hidden in the bra and this feeds back the wearer’s heart rate to an app that reads the signals and then decides whether the front clasp can undo or not.
Obviously there are some issues with this invention that spring to mind…
- If an app could tell you if you’re in love, why is the divorce rate so high?
- What happens if you are in love, but it is unreciprocated and the bra pops open every time your husband’s brother walks into the room (extreme example I know, but think about it.)
- What if it doesn’t go off when your boyfriend tries to take it off? Can you imagine that conversation?
- What if you’re just nervous about a huge presentation and your bra opens like the Pearly Gates just as you enter the boardroom?
- But most of all: What if you want to show your boobs whenever and to whomever you want to and not have a bloody APP and BRA decide about it?
Am I too cynical? Is this a good thing? Please feel free to add your thoughts.
