Oh, to have the ease of Brigitte Bardot’s steady hand.
There are so few people who can actually master the perfect cat eye. I tell you, I often sit and stare in awe at those able to concour this mighty wand.
We love liquid eyeliner for its precision. We love it for its bold, eye-popping effect. But we loathe it for eternal stubbornness.
According to the internet and some knowledge I have gathered over year of makeup trials and tribulations, I give you…liquid eyeliner advice:
1. Buzzfeed cleverly recommends that you fix your posture before even attempting to draw lines on your face. Sit down, plant your elbows down on a flat surface and rest your pinky finger on your cheek to avoid that shaky hand.
2. We all do this, but try not to pull the skin on the side of your eye when applying eyeliner. It feels like it’s working for you, but honey, sweetie, no, it’s really working against you. Doing this ends up creating gaps as the skin creases during this process. Rather use a micellar water soaked earbud to clean up any smudges after applying freestyle.

3. If you are too scared to go right in with a liquid liner, draw a pencil line on your lid first and then apply the liquid liner on top.
4. Use a post-it or business card to draw the perfect eyeliner wing/flick.
5. Start the flick from the wrong way, i.e. start with the flick and work towards your eye.
