Is having good hair more important than having good sex?

accreditation

A recent survey of 1001 women between the ages of 18 and 39 in Gauteng, the Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal found that family topped the list of the most essential thing in their lives. No surprises there.

But interestingly, a healthy head of hair seems to be more important to young, upmarket South African women than an active sex life, an attractive body or owning a car.

Who needs a car when you have Uber, right?

Healthy hair, having a cell phone and the internet was all on par on the list of needs - essentials, dur?

The results showed that 60 percent of respondents colour or dye their hair. More than 50 percent of women said that they regularly straighten their hair while 43 percent said they were either losing hair or it was thinning.

So I think it's fair to say that a girl's mane is one of her main concerns.

And according to a study conducted last year, 60% of Cape Town women said that their hair plays a crucial role when it comes to how attractive they feel and their level of self-confidence. This is compared to 58% in Durban and 46% in Johannesburg.
