Dewy skin and natural eyebrows are key for SA Fashion Week beauty looks. Lesley Whitby, head of makeup at WBeauty, shows us the looks she interpreted inspired by these trends.

Experts at WBeauty, the official beauty sponsor for SA Fashion Week, said they have sidestepped the popular contouring aesthetic and are focusing on more natural looks this week. And these were still created to be experimentally modern and playful.”
Here are the fashion week inspired looks you can try:
Graphic eyeliner
If you want to keep your makeup minimal but still on trend while showing off your eyes, this graphic purple liner is the perfect fix. After applying a thin layer of light foundation, Lesley swept across the upper lash line and added a light stroke on the lower lash line with bright purple. The colourful eye shadow palette she used, called Heatwave, is long wearing and has a great velvet finish.
Motivating her choice of purple, Lesley said: “I just think it’s always the underdog of colour, you know. It always gets left out, and this is such a beautiful purple – it’s quite alive, it’s got an iridescence to it – so I thought it would be fun to use that for a change.”
To create natural looking brows use a eyebrow duo and accentuate the hairs with a spoolie brush. Touch it up with the gel to keep them in place.
With a mild tint of tangerine on the lips and a dash of mascara, Lesley finished off the look with a setting spray to help keep the makeup from melting.
“It’s still very much about a beautiful perfect dew. That is key and avoid a heavy eyebrow. It’s all in the eye area on this one, with pops of colour here and there,” said Lesley.
Punchy lip and softer eye
Lesley used a nude shadow from the same Heatwave palette and extended it right up to the eyebrow. To create the wet eye look use a sticky gloss on the eyelid.
She completed the look with a light fill on the lash line using a gel liner. This gel pencil will, according to Lesley, won't move. Choose a water proof mascara with a soft brush. The soft brush is useful because it moves with the lashes.
She used the eyebrow duo again to create the same natural brows and painted the lips with a deep purple gloss in a berry colour.
For your skin, use a loose powder and slight bronzer on cheeks and forehead, then a setting spray to complete.
For both looks, Lesley said: “I’ve tried to keep it quite fun and youthful and not to detract too much from the clothes either, so it’s almost like it's married as one look.”
