This new trend sees queens wearing their crowns on their eyelids

Hot on the heels of the eyebrow crown, a new queenly trend has stepped up to take the throne – and it’s surprisingly cool.

The crown eyeshadow is just as the name suggests: You paint a crown shape on your eyelids using your eyeshadow and round off the tips of your royal crest with little diamond studs.

According to Metro, the trend has been around for quite some time, but only recently went viral after beauty blogger and makeup maven Hudda Kattan shared a video on Instagram.

In the clip, another Instagrammer does a tutorial of the crown eyeshadow trend using products from Hudda’s makeup line.

The vid racked up more than 700 000 views and many keen comments.

“It’s a must,” one user noted. While another commented: “Beautiful!”

If you’re eager to try out the bold trend but afraid your hands aren’t as steady as you’d like, Hello! suggests you use a stencil for the crown’s outline.

And voila! You’re channelling your inner royal.
