According to Jezebel, a woman who calls herself Miss Flower, had a lot of work done: from her lips to her nose and cheeks. The results: (surprisingly) astonishing.
The below video is the story of her journey, or as she calls it, her 'Beauty Design'. Her transformation by what seems like a miracle-working plastic surgeon, Dr. Philippe Chout, is a rather remarkable one.
When we talk cosmetic surgery, we often think of vanity. People wanting to 'correct' their flaws. On the other hand, we are told to love our imperfections, to accept ourselves as we are, and that no matter what, beauty comes from within.
Yet, when I saw the story of Miss Flower, I wondered whether we should just, maybe, stop judging friends, celebrities and women we don't know on their body choices.
Condemning others for their choices (be it plastic of not), should be viewed as fundamentally wrong. There is a culture of negativity that has festered to such a level that we now hear 'plastic surgery', 'Botox' or 'nose job' and immediately furrow a brow.
As humans we will never be satisfied. Some take action, changing their 'flaws', others don't or won't. There are various discussions we can have here and there are endless groups of people we can consider.
Some have the opportunity to change their physicality for the 'better' as they have the monetary means, others want to change their appearance but can't afford to, many love the way they look or just don't care and the rest refuse to change their bodies no matter what, mainly because of principal.
We can argue societal influences, media and endless other ways in which women and men are molded to perceive others and their bodies as well as ourselves and our bodies.
The point: we are all different. And we all have different circumstances. There is no 'apply to all' option here.
Miss Flower is a success story. Her face was transformed, and now, well, she is much happier. Or at least it appears that way.
