Reality TV star Kendall Jenner became a hot topic of discussion (as one does when they're a Kardashian) after a Vogue US article about her acne struggles hit social media along with her Proactiv brand partnership announcement.

In this candid interview, the model tells Vogue that when the world zoomed in on her breakout of pimples on the Golden Globes red carpet last year, "it really stung".

This is understandable, considering the fact that any and everyone who has ever had a skin/body concern that cannot be instantly fixed is always well aware of it and would rather not have any further attention drawn to the issue.

But when you're famous, your imperfections get the spotlight put on them. Literally. 

What Kendall further shares illustrates this point: "Obviously I look at my face every day and know exactly what I’m dealing with; I don’t love [my acne] either, but I have to suck it up."

The 23-year-old first got acne when she was 14 years old, triggering her social anxiety. Her acne then resurfaced at age 21, which Vogue attributes to Kendall's back-to-back fashion show schedule.

The young Kardashian-Jenner has since bagged a deal as skincare brand Proactiv's brand ambassador, which approached her after last year's Golden Globes. The Proactiv commercial premiered during E!'s red carpet coverage at the 2019 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday night. Coincidence? We think not.

Proactiv (and a dermatologist) clearly seems to be working for her.

Overall, the publication considered Miss Jenner's candour about her skincare journey "empowering", but social media users aren't really moved, especially since momager Kris Jenner teased a "brave and vulnerable" reveal.

While others thought she would confirm speculations about her sexuality.
