When we hear the word 'face lift' words like surgery, scarring and invasive come to mind. However Dr. Fatima Bhabha and Dr Zaheda Bhabha are the superwoman trying to make a difference in the Aesthetics and Medical Industry for women, by women! Their aesthetics practice, BEAUTY & CURVES offers a wide variety of treatments, including non-surgical face lifts.
How do I get a facelift without surgery?
At Beauty and Curves we offer a number of strategies to reverse the effects of time without resorting to the trauma of surgery.Non-invasive techniques will typically freshen and tighten your skin, giving you a more youthful yet natural appearance. There are a number of options available and the recommended treatment is tailored to each individual patient. After an initial consultation, your doctor will recommend the best course of treatment to suit you. Here's what you need to know about non-surgical facelifts.
Lunchtime facelift
You may have heard this term thrown about for a variety of treatments, but in fact the term was applied first and most accurately to the thread face lift. A thread face lift is literally that: the insertion of a barbed thread into the skin (usually using a needle) to literally tug drooping skin back up to where it used to be.
The procedure
Sometimes a small incision is made during this procedure, but a thread face lift is a quick and easy procedure that requires no down time. Thread face lifts are impermanent and the procedure must be repeated after the tightened skin begins to sag. Occasionally there are complications like a visible surfacing of the thread (which is usually blue); yet the thread face lift remains one of the only non-surgical options that really can compare itself to the surgical face lift.
Liquid facelift
A liquid face lift is the term used for fillers which are hyaluronic acid dermal fillers used to plump the skin and fill deep wrinkles or enhance aging lips. Lines across the forehead, cheeks, jaw line, chin, and those that run from your nose to the corners of your mouth can be eliminated with a dermal filler. The fillers are injected in small quantities and may cause mild swelling, but should result in very little recovery time. Results will last for up to one year.
The category of liquid face lifts could also include Botox, since it is in fact injected into the face in liquid form. Botox works by relaxing the muscle contractions of the face, thereby reducing the appearance of frown lines and expression wrinkles. Botox is popular and effective, with results that last up to four months.
Radiofrequency facelift
A very popular option these days is the use of heat to cause the collagen under the skin to contract, resulting in a skin-tightening effect. Radiofrequency energy heats the inner layers of the skin (fat and collagen) to tighten and rejuvenate the skin’s collagen structure, which weakens with age and exposure to toxins.
Laser facelift
Non-surgical laser face lift is similar to the radiofrequency face lift, except that it uses infrared light to heat the skin and tighten collagen structures.
