This woman almost died from popping a pimple!

She says the doctors immediately began administering the strongest IV antibiotics seeing as this was a life-threatening condition.

"It was scary and awful but it could have been so much worse. Although I feared my face would not heal, I was relieved to have my vision and my life spared," Katie wrote.

Katie says the infection came from her eyebrow pencil and she decided to share this story so she can educate other girls in the hopes of helping somebody avoid going through what she did.

She shared her story on Twitter, alongside two photos of her face before and two days after she had popped the spot. 

"I am amazed at the responses people have posted and truly happy that so many people have been inspired to take that extra step in their makeup routine and clean their brushes and tools.

"I'm not kidding when I say it is critical!"

Cellulitis develops suddenly and can spread through the body quickly and severe infections can spread through the body and become life-threatening.

According to The Sun, it causes an area of skin to suddenly become red, hot, swollen and tender. It can also cause a high temperature, nausea and vomiting and confusion as the infection spreads.

It is best to get it treated at a hospital as soon as possible.

Even though Katie says she learned a very important lesson and is okay now, it cost her a hefty amount.

"I was left with thousands of dollars in hospital bills that I haven't been able to pay yet. The doctors of St. David's saved my life and it would mean the world to be able to pay them back for their services.

"Any help you may be able to offer would be greatly appreciated and every little bit helps."

So ladies, be warned: Take care of your make up tools.
