One of the latest (and perhaps greatest) beauty trends to hit the internet is that of multi-coloured underarm hair.
Yes, recently women all over the world started sporting some rainbow-like pits (often matching their already colourful tresses).
Why this trend and why now? It's hard to tell, yet YouTube user Destiny M received thousands of views last week when she shared a video of her blue underarm hair. People were obviously curious.

This trend has been received with mixed emotions as you can imagine. @Maldivians tweeted:
"A unique new beauty craze is encouraging women to grow out their underarm hair and dye it a bright, bold color."
While others have called this trend "gross" or "unfeminine".
My opinion?
I think it's really clever and the pop of colour looks really interesting. Yet, I know that it's only being called a "beauty" trend, because underarm hair is now made to look more attractive as it has been packaged as a quirk, a cool thing to do and is related to beautifying the self - thus making long underarm more socially acceptable.
However, I don't think this trend will last very long, as most (men and women), unfortunately, still flinch at the sight of a woman with a hint of underarm stubble, not even to mention cascading underarm hair.
It's really sad that women are still judged by their hair grooming practices - whether or not they choose to have long body hair (on places other than their heads) is their choice. And, yes, it should be respected and even celebrated.
