We can’t wait for Meghan Markle to stun in her wedding gown, but while we’re waiting, we thought we’d imagine some runway gowns we think would be perfect for her.
Her style is effortlessly chic, classic, but sometimes with a hint of fun that shows that she doesn’t take herself too seriously.
Will she be bucking tradition? We’d certainly like her to.
Here are some of our designer dress choices we’d love to see Meghan stun in:
Up in arms
According to Glamour.com, one of this year’s biggest bridal trends – particularly for fall and those nippy transitional spring days – are gowns featuring a playful new take on bridal sleeves.
We’re 100% here for it because this kind of detail – whether it’s a bell sleeve, illusion sleeves with 3D lace appliqués or even detachable ones – would be so great if Meghan decided to keep to a more classic and simple look. It would add a touch of playfulness.
These Monique Lhuillier gowns are absolute perfection!

All tied up neatly in a bow
I’m a huge fan of bow detailing on wedding dresses – the more dramatic, the better. But, I don’t necessarily think that Meghan will be all that OTT, but that doesn’t mean that a pretty bow – especially detailing the back of her dress.
Here are three awesome ways we envision her in this style, courtesy of Viktor & Rolf’s 2018 Fall/Winter collection.

The big dramatic off the shoulder bow
Or the bow could be attached to her wedding train (my favourite one I think).
Or maybe an asymmetrical dress with one-shoulder bow detail?
We’re dreaming big, but we’d be thrilled to see Meghan donning something from SA’s top wedding dress designer, Gert Johan Coetzee.
Maybe breaking away from the traditional dress and donning the gorgeous jumpsuit as worn by Bonang below? Or perhaps this could even be her post-ceremony outfit? Either way, we think she’d look super stunning!

What about this Swarovski encrusted evening gown with a beautiful sash? Again, something I think would make for a beautiful post-ceremony outfit. When you’re royalty, there’s no such thing as being too fancy, is there?
We’d also love to see Meghan in a Janita Toerin design – these specific gowns with floor-length capes are to die for.
C A P E Because wintery days like these need to be rocked in a floor length cape like this! @mrnorushu looking like an absolute queen in our ZOEY cape from our LEILAH JAMES collection ?available at @theweddingcollectivepta and paired with our ADELE top and MONA skirt ?? A modern twist on the classic ball gown and fascinator designed by Marchesa – with a beautiful capelet for that added detail. We reckon this would fit in quite nicely, given how all out everyone went with hats at William and Kate’s wedding.
Whether it’s an a-line, mermaid or trumpet gown, it’s clear that capes and capelets work with almost any design.
Bonus – because we love the sheer whimsical and romantic allure of this gown:
And these Lazaro designs – with pops of gold, champagne, ivory and shimmery sparkles for the bride who wants to be the belle of the ball.
