A bride battling an aggressive form of cancer died just 18 hours after saying “I do” to her soulmate.

Heather Mosher (31), from Connecticut, US, couldn’t hold back her bright smile while saying her vows to the man of her dreams, David Mosher (35), reports The Sun.

The touching moment was captured by Heather’s bridesmaid Christina Karas and posted to Instagram a few days after the tearjerking ceremony.

“That moment right there was like, 'Death, I’m not afraid of you! I am so in love and I am going to celebrate that love right now," says Christina of her friend.

Unfortunately, Heather tragically passed away just 18 hours after her long battle with breast cancer.

“One of my dearest friends got married this past Friday, December 22nd, to the man of her dreams,” Christina wrote on Instagram.

“She had been battling stage 4 cancer and it had spread all throughout her body, but she was determined to marry her soul mate.

“Less than 24 hours later her spirit flew from her body and ascended to be with God.”

The pair met back in 2015 at a swing class and have been head over heels for each other ever since.

But Heather was diagnosed with cancer the same day that David proposed to her on a romantic horse-and-carriage ride in 2016.

The newlywed told ABC News that Heather, who underwent two rounds of chemotherapy, was then given the devastating news that her cancer had spread to her lymph nodes – but that didn’t stop her from planning her wedding.

"I left the plans as they were. I proposed to her,” says David.

"We had the toughest year of our life. She struggled with her cancer through the traditional chemotherapy.”

But things went from bad to worse for the couple after doctors told Heather that her cancer had spread to her brain and lungs.

As a result of the awful news, they decided to move their wedding to an earlier date.

"It was just like surreal because I’m supposed to be exchanging vows to her and here I am saying goodbye," says David.
