Pictures of a young single woman who decided to take wedding photos with her ailing grandfather have gone viral.

Fu Xueweni, from Sichuan Province in China, said she wanted to take snaps of her grandfather “before it was too late”.

The 25-year-old chose a gorgeous white gown with a long train, while her 87-year-old granddad, Fu Qiquan, donned various smart suits.

The touching pictures, which have gained thousands of likes on social media, show the pair inside a church as well as in a studio.

Xueweni, who says she played Felix Mendelssohn’s Wedding March during the adorable shoot, also tattooed a portrait of her grandfather on her forearm.

"My granddad suffered a stroke two years ago and was hospitalised again in September last year,” says Xueweni.

"Doctors made it clear to me that his body was failing and he has a heart condition," she said, adding: "I worried one day he suddenly won’t be here anymore."

Xueweni’s granddad raised her after her parents’ divorce when she was a child.

The brunette beauty explained that since she has no plans to get married in the near future, she wanted to take the wedding snaps so “the most important person” in her life would get to see her walk down the aisle.

"I wanted him to see me at my most beautiful," she said.
