’Tis the season where single people often envy the loved-up couples canoodling under the mistletoe.
But one single young woman turned a potentially sad situation into a hilarious photo opportunity for her family’s Christmas card.
Emily Seawright, from California in the US, and her creative family always take a picture for their annual Christmas card. This year, they decided to give it a humorous twist.
“My family’s Christmas card this year. LMAO,” Emily captioned the snap on Twitter.
The family opted to let go of the traditional picture of everyone posed in front of a Christmas tree, instead creating one-worded signs describing each one’s life stage.
In the pic Emily’s parents are holding a sign that says “excited”, while her siblings are holding signs that respectively say “expecting” and “engaged”.
And Emily? Well, she’s holding a placard that reads “Emily”.
Since Emily posted the photo it’s received more than 327 000 likes and 55 000 retweets on the social-media platform.
Her hilarious tweet has resonated with many single people all over the world, who now call themselves “Emily”.
“Wow that seems like my life,” one commented.
“Emily, continue living your best life. You’re doing great!” another wrote.
