One Instagrammer is travelling butt-naked across Australia in a bid to prove that nudity isn’t sexual.

According to The Sun, Sterre (21) is originally from the Netherlands and began her undies-free journey in July. Her cheeky posts have secured her 141 000 followers on the social media site.

The intrepid traveller told Daily Mail she was inspired by a page called Get Naked Australia, which snaps nude posers from across the country.

But posing naked in some of nature’s purest locations hasn’t come without its challenges.

Sterre has had to face giant spiders and mosquito bites, The Sun writes.

She’s even bumped into an unsuspecting stranger while out on one of her shoots – and things got pretty awkward.

The Sun reports Sterre was hiking through the Finch Hatton Gorge in Queensland when she was spotted swimming nude in a secluded part of the river.

“I noticed someone had also taken the same path as me and saw me swimming naked,” she explained to Daily Mail.

“He saw me looking back and the weird thing was that I didn’t feel embarrassed because I was naked – but he felt embarrassed because he saw me naked and took off.”

Instead of derailing her the experience made her all the more determined to normalise and desexualise nudity.

“Being naked still makes other people uncomfortable. It’s really a shame that not everyone can see the pleasure of being naked in a non-sexual way,” she says.

“I started my Instagram without any purpose, but it quickly changed after I received so many comments and questions.

“I wanted to spread body positivity and show people being nude isn’t sexual or weird.”
