A dad had a beautiful idea just before passing away because of cancer – he’d pre-order flowers for his daughter to be delivered on her birthday.

Bailey Seller’s dad prepaid for a bunch of flowers to be delivered on her birthday for the past five years, fully aware that he wouldn’t be around to see her get them.

This year for her 21st birthday Bailey, from Tennessee in the US, received the last bunch of flowers organised by her thoughtful dad.

The young woman took to Twitter to share the precious last gift from her father and the post melted hearts all over the internet.

“My dad passed away when I was 16 from cancer and before he died he pre-paid flowers so I could receive them every year on my birthday,” Bailey writes.

“Well this is my 21st birthday flowers and the last. Miss you so much daddy.”

Along with the beautiful flowers, Bailey posted a picture of herself as a kid sitting on her dad’s shoulders, as well as a touching birthday card with her father’s last words to her.

“Bailey, this is my last love letter to you until we meet again,” the card written by Bailey’s dad says.

“I do not want you to shed another tear for me my baby girl, for I am in a better place.

“You are and will always be the most precious jewel I was given.

“It is your 21st birthday and I want you to always respect your momma and stay true to yourself.

“Be happy and live life to the fullest.

“I will still be with you through every milestone, just look around and there I will be.

“I love you boo boo, and happy birthday!!!!! Daddy.”

The heart-breaking post racked up more than 1,4 million likes and 351 000 retweets on Twitter. “This made me cry, I lost my mother last year to cancer shortly after my birthday. Happy birthday to you,” said one Twitter user.

“This is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen, made me cry. I hope you had the most amazing birthday, and keep smiling,” said another.
