Instagram recently made the announcement on their blog that you can now shop from Instagram Stories directly.
“Instagram isn’t just a place of inspiration, it’s also a place of action, and we know that inspiration can come from anywhere. On Instagram Stories, when you see a sticker with a shopping bag icon, tap on it to see more details about that product,” says the post.

So the next time you view a brand or shop’s Stories and you see a little tag hovering over a certain part of the image, you can tap the tag and order the products – which now officially makes it easier to shop those things you fall in love with on the app. It’s that simple.

So you’d think that Instagram is probably making a pretty penny off this feature, right? Well, actually not. Instagram confirmed to Mashable that it’s not making any commission on sales from stories – so it really is just about bringing brands closer to their customers and making it easier to get their products out there.

Instagram also said on their blog that in a recent survey Instagrammers said they often watch Stories as a way to “stay in the-know with brands they’re interested in, get an insider view of products they like, and find out about new products that are relevant to them.”
The blog post also says that select brands will have the feature for now, while more will come in the future.
