1. The song

Djing is my side hustle. What's yours? It's been a year or more since I've not included at least one Kaytranada track in a playlist and this new one is sure to get those hips to move even just a little.

2. The must-have items

* I got the inside fashion scoop when I played at H&M's preview event last week. Everything on the rail was lust-worthy but I think this piece is going to be a favourite. H&M's studio collection is now available at Sandton and V&A stores so lucky for those of us that live in Joburg or Cape Town. Go shop!

* I think a lot of people are still surprised when they see me in sneakers because I've long been a heels kind of woman. But some brands for the last few years just keep knocking it out of the park. Like these Tubulars from Adidas Originals

3. The hot tickets

DURBAN

During a roadtrip with bae, we met up with my old varsity friends at The Chairman for a couple of hours. The drinks are pricey but it's a great treat to take in the incredible artwork collection which includes names like Ayanna Jackson, Mary Sibande and Wayne Barker. This Saturday Zoe The Seed, a jazz vocalist, is going to create even more magic in the beautifully-curated space.

JOBURG

The Fak'ugesi Digital Innovation festival ends this weekend with a bloc party on Saturday from 4pm to early the next morning at Tshimolgong Precinct in Braamfontein. If you're into trap-jazz and innovative sounds, Masego will be there along with other fantastic local and international beatmakers and performers including Nonku Phiri, Hannah Faith, Christian Tiger School, Zaki Ibrahim and MNDSGN.

CAPE TOWN

I've attended this event in previous years with family and friends. It's a goodie. The Franschhoek Uncorked wine festival gives you access to 16 Cape wineries like Noble Hill and Boschendal. Food markets, wine tastings, tours, art exhibitions and more over two days - 16 to 17 September - will be memorable.

4. The conversation

Instead of talking about Serena in the context of that memoir written by 'who cares', we now can focus on the GOAT's new baba. What a great couple and what a beautiful child. Congrats you champions!

5. The reading pile

It's been a minute and I've got so many podcast episodes (130 to be exact - last update in May) to catch up on and books I should be burying my nose in. Here's a list of what you should be taking in RN.

* The Man Booker shortlist finalists. Isn't there always the grand plan that you'll work through the longlist? One day, right? Because of the current and past shittiness of anti-immigrant and refugee sentiment I'm going to highlight Mohsin Hamid's Exit West. Not light reading but a few people could do with getting a little shook this weekend.

* Weekends are definitely for lovers and when I talk about lovers, I mean the people that bring love into your life. Modern Love is a great podcast based on a column about relationship dynamics that appears in the New York Times and one of the highlights is that it's narrated by some of your entertainment faves.

Have a great weekend!
