Sunday 18 November marked the 22nd installment of the SA Style Awards, which honours 10 of South Africa's fashion mavens primarily from (but not exclusively) the entertainment and arts industries. This is an annual star-studded 'invitation only' affair hosted at Sandton City's ritzy Diamond Walk.

The founder of SA Style Awards Jillian Grogor told The Sunday Independent that "the SA Style awards are dedicated to finding South African trendsetters and trailblazers, who create a benchmark for excellence in their specific career paths and therefore deserve to be recognised."

It comes as no surprise then that the likes of standout women such as Basetsana Kumalo, Terry Pheto, and DJ Zinhle were honoured at the ceremony.

And these were the looks that got a style nod from us:

Bassie Kumalo

Bassie showed up and showed off in a nothing less than spectacular gown to collect her award. She wore a red Gert Johan Coetzee creation, complete with regal headgear fit for a former pageant queen, of course.

Sarah Langa

Another lady in a red hue that rivaled that of the carpet was Sarah Langa Mackay whose sense of occasion is completely unmatched.

DJ Zinhle & Lerato Kganyago

You can either wear red or go red. DJ Zinhle opted for the latter and totally smashed it with her red hairdo, as she collected her 'Most Stylish Performing Artist Award'.
