She has practically every designer in the world at her beck and call, ready to satisfy her every whim.
So why would a woman, whose wish is a top designer’s command, dare trod in shoes that are too big for her?
To avoid blisters and bunions, that’s why.
When Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, stepped out for her first royal appearance at Ascot, she stunned in a Givenchy dress with matching hat.
But attention quickly shifted to her black leather pumps, which were noticeably too big.
“Celebs often go a size up, or even two, in the shoe department when they're at an event or on the red carpet and it's for one reason we can all relate to – to avoid blisters,” fashion expert Harriet Davey told British tabloid The Sun.
"There's nothing worse than uncomfortable shoes (we've all been there on a night out) and when celebs like Meghan are wearing heels for a long period of time their feet can often swell up."
It’s not the first time Meghan has been spotted in larger-than-necessary shoes.
When she and Prince Harry announced their engagement in November last year, the royal-to-be sported strappy beige stilettos that looked a good few centimetres too big.
We guess she’s found a way to look beautiful without having to suffer for it, right?
"The swelling can cause blisters and in the long run bunions – like long-time heel fan Victoria Beckham has been rumoured to suffer with,” Harriet explained.
So does Meghan plod around uncomfortably in gigantic heels, all in a bid to avoid those pesky blisters and unflattering bunions?
Turns out she doesn’t.
“A trick of the trade is to stuff the toe with padding like tissue or cotton wool, and this can be taken out once they feel like they need a bit more room in their shoes."
See, even the rich and famous are sometimes surprisingly relatable!
