So naturally they’re desperate to emulate the royal-to-be by purchasing the gorgeous garments she dons so flawlessly.
According to Daily Mail, the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate, adds an estimated £1 billion (R17 billion) to the British fashion industry annually. But those in the know reckon Miss Markle’s sparkle could soon outshine her future sis-in-law.
“Ms Markle is an astonishing fashion sales force, who’s setting the industry alight,” says British Vogue editor Edward Enninful.
We take a look at a few of the chic pieces the former actress has worn, which have flown off clothing shelves within minutes of her appearing in it.
The engagement announcement
When a beaming Meghan stood beside Prince Harry for their engagement photos in the Sunken Garden at Kensington Palace, the brunette beauty looked stunning in a white Line the Label wrap coat. It sold out in just 20 minutes for a whopping £750 (R12 750).
Christmas Day
She attended church with the royal family at St Mary Magdalene in Sandringham. Her beige Sentaler wrap coat sold out in 24 hours for £1 000 (R17 000).
First royal engagement
At £585 (R9 945), the navy blue Mackage coat Meghan wore on her first royal engagement in Nottingham sold out in two hours. The burgundy Strathberry handbag she toted was out of stock in 11 minutes, with buyers forking out £495 (R8 415) to get their hands on one.
Meeting delegates of the Commonwealth Youth Forum
She teamed her pinstriped Altuzarra dress with a black Camilla and Marc blazer and strappy stilettos from Tamara Mellon. But it’s her black-and-white handbag from Australian brand Oroton that was a real hit, selling out in 45 minutes for a more modest £160 (R2 720).
Visiting the University of Bath Sports Training Village
When the couple attended the team trials for the 2018 Invictus Games, Meghan wore an olive green Aritzia trench coat, which sold out in 24 hours for £175 (R2 975) each.
Style icon
And when she stepped out in a flowing Self-Portrait frock recently, Meghan made fashionistas sit up and take note. The dress was sold out in four hours, priced at £300 (R5 100).
