Mpho Maboi is one of the leading women in local sport – a male-dominated field she never imagined joining. While she ended up in broadcasting, she wanted to be a doctor but studied IT.
Better known as a sports anchor for SABC Sport on Metro FM’s Fresh Breakfast with DJ Fresh and Somizi (weekdays 5am to 8pm) and SABC1’s Mzansi Insider (Saturdays 10am to 11am), Maboi says she’s a fan of classic looks. “I’ve never been a fashionista so I generally keep my styling very classic and I like pieces that I can pair with a lot of things in my closet.”
