#WednesdayWishlist: How to be fashion forward AF with your accessories

accreditation

Tiny sunnies

We are seeing a huge uptake in micro '90s style sunglasses being represented on the streets - especially outside fashion week shows.

And come rain or shine, influencers refuse to be caught dead sans such frames.

I developed an unshakeable affinity for the cat eye frame after I saw Belle Hadid rock them countless times on the Gram.

Shell accessories

So, the wise ones (as I call them) at Manrepeller (basically the fashion website that predicts trends waaaaaaay before anyone else does, except when we do of course) now says shell accessories will be big in 2018. And by golly, I believe them.

It goes so beautifully with the Mediterranean style aesthetic we've been seeing all over Instagram lately - think basket bags, white blouses and other beachy accessories and vibes.

Prada also gave us these lovely shell babes in the form of neckpieces and bracelets last season...

And lucky for us, our very own local jewellery brand Matter of Fakt has been dabbling in the shell arts for a few years and have conceptualised not only one such shell item but several:

Cheapskate tip: It's also definitely the kind of thing you could easily buy for next to nothing from many old school shell shops in beachy towns like Strand.

Back to basics hairware

Just last night I was sitting in one of Cape Town's coolest drinks spots and as Oprah is my witness I saw at least 5 scrunchies and 3 hair clamps pass by.

Now I've been saying that the scrunchie revolution IS coming but didn't see the hair clamp trend returning. And this is not in the bathroom as you're washing your face, no. It's outdoors. In trendy bars. For all to see!

Be it in a top-of-head clamp hold (above) or a lower hold or even a side vibe, it is safe to say that this unprecedented return has rendered basic AF hair accessories a must for this year.

Get them here:

This one from Clicks is only R29.95!

Or if you're keen on a syrupy sweet number, get this one from Pylones, R79.95.
