As much as we love trends, we often tend to see too many copies of the same outfit. It's like a recipe. It's on social, and IRL sitting next to you on the Gautrain - the same 'It' look worn to death by different people.
This type of frock. These sneakers. This pair of tiny sunglasses.
All musts!
But it's time to experiment with this recipe. This week we're looking to trendsetters who just love fashion, and almost never follow any formula as they're driven by odd pairings, whimsy, colour, prints and texture. It's all about being playful, and not just about getting Insta likes or becoming Insta-famous.
Dressing for yourself, be it bold, bright and badass or classic and punchy, it has to feel like you. And the best version of you.
That is what clothes and makeup should do - they should elevate or balance your mood.
Lip pop

Be fire
Only going for lunch in your neighbourhood? Don't be afraid to be overdressed. Why not wear a massive pussy bow shirt or shoes that say 'I have arrived'? OTT? More like OOTD.

Looking 'pretty' is not always the point
This might be an extreme example...
But if you feel good wearing a giant brown-beige cushiony fabric wrapped around your body, or an oversized branded shirt, usually reserved for evenings spent lounging on the couch, then so be it.
Stay golden
Metallics, bling and sequins have always been more associated with eveningwear, but adding shiny, satin gold, rose gold and silver to your everyday street style will up all luxe vibes.
Wear the things you love
If you ever think it's strange that you're wearing the same thing again and again, don't. Dress for you, and who cares if you want to wear all your favourite things at once - maybe you wanted to look like a decorated Christmas tree in October! Wear it wild, proud and with no regrets.
