1. The Artisan
Founded by senior architectural technologist Jovan Geldenhuys in 2013, The Artisan was later joined by Ingrid Auret, an interior designer by qualification and freelance exhibition designer by trade.

From copper-pipe to bedside box lamps, this creative duo have been producing very innovative and illustrative lighting solutions. All items are made to order and can be bought directly from their online store. Their work is also stocked in both Cape Town and Jozi.

3. Willow Lamp
Willow Lamp is big news on the international design scene. The award-winning lighting design company's original lighting designs stem from the principles of sacred geometry and, according to their site, their designs are constructed with "world-class lighting technology, craftsmanship and superior materials to create timeless yet functional works of art."
Willow Lamp has won many awards, including the 2014 100% Design Johannesburg best lighting award and the 2007 Elle Décor lighting designer of the year. They were also invited to the 100% Design London trade show in 2014 and exhibited their work at the 2010 'Global Africa Project' Museum of Arts and Design in New York.
Their work features in local private residences and hotels in Egypt, Morocco, Nigeria, Switzerland, London and Dubai, among others.

Based in Durban, Egg Designs' work caters for the hospitality, corporate and retail industries.
The design company was founded in 1996 by Greg and Roché Dry and they currently have two retail concept showrooms in Durban and Johannesburg where their products are presented. The products are able to be customised in terms of their size, material & design.
