Over the years SONA has developed a reputation for many of the attendee’s show stopping and extravagant regalia on the red carpet and this year was nothing short of that. We take a look at seven outfits that turned heads on the red carpet from Babalwa Mneno to Ntando Duma.

Ntando Duma
Actress and presenter Ntando Duma, rocked the red carpet in a chrome pink double breasted suit and she styled the look with a hi-end black pony tail.
2. Busisiwe Mkhwebane
Public protector, Busisiwe Mkhwebane looked stunning in a pink gown.
3. Nompendulo Mkhatshwa
One of the newly appointed and youngest national parliament members and former Wits SRC president, Nompendulo Mkhatshwa looked like a goddess in an all-white modern-traditional dress.
4. Nazley Sharif
Newly inducted Democratic Alliance parliament member, Nazley Sharif turned heads in a low-shoulder and mermaid tail, Mozambican inspired number.
5. Mandla Mandela and Raabia Clarke
Mandla Mandela alongside his wife Raabia Clarke, looked like the perfect couple in an all-black dual culture themed ensemble.
6. Bheki Cele and Thembeka Ngcobo
Minister of Police and his wife Thembeka Ngcobo looked nothing short of extravagant, in their 90’s themed outfits. Which included the minister’s famous hat and Thembeka in a figure capsuling ostrich feather gown.
7. Babalwa Mneno
And last but not least local model and TV personality Babalwa Mneno, set fire to the red carpet in a yellow dress that showed off her gorgeous figure.
