As a bride, it’s probably quite normal to feel stressed.

How will the weather turn out? Will the décor deliver the desired result? Will guests get along at the reception?

But one bride took fretting over things beyond her control a bit too far.

Posting in a closed group on Facebook called “That’s It, I’m Wedding Shaming,” the woman asked whether it would be unreasonable of her to demand her friend, who’s also her maid of honour, lose her baby weight for the wedding.

“So my friend who’s my maid of honor in my wedding, recently gave birth but she hasn’t lost the baby weight,” she began her post.

“It’s been three weeks already, but she still looks pregnant. She still has a little over three weeks to lose the weight, but I’m not confident she will. She may not even fit into her dress.”

The bridezilla continues to explain how she had the dress altered several times for her friend, who seems to be struggling to shake off the extra kilos.

“I refuse to have it altered again. It’s already been altered multiple times for her, even though she said she’d fit into it. My question is, if she doesn’t fit [into] her dress on the day of the wedding, would it be wrong to have someone else take her place? I have someone in mind.”

The woman, who received tons of backlash for her rant, goes as far as saying she won’t let her friend ruin her special day.

“She said she has a backup dress but I’m saying hell no to that. I’m not fat shaming, but come on. My wedding is only one day and I’m not having it ruined by her or her baby weight.”

Other group members were outraged, writes The Metro.

“The fat shaming is horrible. But also, your bridesmaids are supposed to be the people you love standing with you, not mannequins for photos,” one angry member commented.

While another mother empathized with the bridesmaid: “At six weeks postpartum I was just getting out of the house for the first time and everything was overwhelming and my body was still weird.”

According to The Sun, the woman’s post went viral, garnering more than 1 000 comments.

Here’s to hoping the public’s reaction forces the bride-to-be to rethink the importance of her dilemma and friendship.
