It’s not easy to keep up with the trends or to even be a trendsetter, but some of Mzansi’s stars are nailing it.

DRUM speaks to fashion stylists Tebello Radebe, Lakey Ndaba and Kele Foko to find out who their most stylish stars of 2018 are.

1.    Kefile Mabote

Stylist and blogger, Kefilwe Mabote has her haters to thank for the style she exudes. She has undoubtedly made her mark in the Instagram fashion space with her appetite for luxury lifestyle and glamour. Her impeccable sense of fashion and style has won her awards and international deals. Both Tebello and Kele strongly believe Kefile has showed up and showed off this year.

 2.    K Naomi

Model and presenter K Naomi has definitely outdone herself this year. According to Tebello, K Naomi’s dress code has been on point. She sticks to the theme with a personal twist. “My favourite look by her was a pleated white jumpsuit she wore to the SA Fashion Week launch. It proved her to be a firm favourite with the public.”

3.    Zulu Mkhathini (formerly known as Dash)

Rapper and presenter Dash has been serving us dapper style to match his good looks. The former Dreamteam member stepped out at the Nedbank International Polo Club in September in a linen tangerine suit and black shirt. The bright look is from his soon-to-be released collection. Kele thinks Dash is a game changer.

4.    Thapelo Mokoena

He knows how to dress to impress. As a man who loves African culture, you can pick that up in some of his outfits, Tebello says. Thapelo’s style is unapologetically well put together and he isn’t afraid of colour, Lakey says.

5.    Dineo Moeketsi

The curvaceous actress has the kind of style many of us have been fantasising about. Her colourful sense of fashion translates as fearless, Lakey says. He also thinks Dineo’s style is captivating and relatable. She looks sizzling in every colour but black certifies her as a style star.

6.    Blue Mbombo

The reality star is the red-carpet queen. Put her in a thigh-high slits or evening gowns with a long trains and she reigns. Tebello believes Blue’s height has everything to do with her edgy style. He says she’s every fashion designer’s dream girl to style. And with every outfit she puts on, whether on vacation in Greece or just going out with friends, Blue’s fashion feels are on point.

7.    Linda Mtoba

The former Isibaya actress has been stealing style shows lately. Who can forget her look for the Vodacom Durban July? She went above and beyond to look regal, and she did it so effortlessly. For Tebello, Linda has an eclectic style that is also laidback but chic. “She is also emerging as a red-carpet It girl as she makes sure to stands out at every award ceremony or high-profile event she attends.”

Indeed Mrs Husband is making the pots not to be done.

 8.    DJ Lamiez Holworthy

She calls herself “the leader of the new school”, and we have to agree with her. Lamiez is too brave and bright for the old school. The Live Amp presenter isn’t shy to show skin. Kele thinks Lamiez stands out in a world where black is seen as safe in fashion. “It’s always refreshing to see someone taking risks with prints and colour.”

9.    Lerato  Kganyago

She is underrated and subtle, but the media personality is the definition of simplicity, Lakey says. Give her a suit any day and she’ll slay more than any guy would. We think her impeccable sense of fashion was the reason she was picked to host the first Project Runway SA series.

10. Ayanda Thabethe

The model and TV presenter is your girl next door who is just in love with herself. It’s her elegant approach to style that makes her stand out and she does it effortlessly, Lakey says. Money can’t buy style, and for Ayanda style found her before money and fame.
