A newlywed couple who got married at the ages of 100 and 103 respectively are proving that no one is ever too old to tie the knot.
John Cook, a World War 2 veteran who recently turned 100, met his wife, Phyllis (103), at an Ohio senior living facility in the US, CNN reports.
The pair dated for a year before they decided to get married.
Last week the couple went to a courthouse to get their marriage licence and discovered they could get married on the spot.
"It wasn't the plan, but we got here and they said, 'We could marry you here’. I said, 'Good, let's get it over with,” the World War 2 vet said.
"To tell you the truth we fell in love with each other. I know you think that may be a little bit farfetched for somebody our age, but we fell in love with each other," Phyllis added.
Both John and Phyllis have lost two spouses in the past but feel lucky to have found love a third time, MSN reports.
"We were just compatible in a whole lot of ways and found ourselves enjoying each other's company," John said.
The Cooks enjoy spending time together enjoying meals, sitting in the sun and zipping down the halls of their old age home on their mobility scooters, New Zealand Herald reports.
Phyllis points out that the two also give each other space.
"What we do [is] we keep both of our apartments. He's upstairs, and I'm downstairs," she said.
The couple have no intention of slowing down and plan on keeping busy and enjoying the time they have together.
