A 24-year-old man from England found out through a private DNA test that earlier this year he’d married his half-sister, Mirror reported.
The post which was originally shared on Reddit by an anonymous user revealed how the couple haven’t shared the news with their mothers and despite the horrific discovery have decided to keep their baby.
“I know incest is against the law and I’m terrified that we could be found out if anyone looked into our histories or if they (I heard they do this) take a DNA sample of our son for genetic testing,” the user wrote.
“I’m not even sure what to do, except maybe ensure that we don’t have more biological children even if our child turns out without a problem just to be safe and adopt or something instead.”
The man further revealed that he and his 25-year-old wife who is due to give birth in March next year, aren’t in contact with their dad, The Sun reported.
“Our bio father is still alive but we don't want anything to do with him,” added the user.
"Despite this, our feelings for each other haven’t changed and we don’t want to split. We’ve known each other since starting school and have been through some hard times together.”
Users shared their words of sympathy with the anonymous user, “Please see a genetic counsellor. They’ve seen and dealt with this situation many times before and can provide advice and guidance without judgment,” advised one user.
