The woman was blasted as an “evil stepmother” for asking social media users to edit her stepson out of images from a family photo shoot.
According to Fox News, a screenshot of a Facebook post showcasing the woman’s request was posted to Reddit and quickly went viral.
The original post consists of three photos from a portrait session with the woman and her family wearing matching plaid shirts and jeans.
The woman can be seen cuddling her apparently biological children in two of the pictures while the older stepson is seated a distance away to the right.
In the other image, the woman and her husband grin widely as they pose alongside their three children appearing to be the epitome of a happy family – or so it seems.
The pictures appear to have been shared on a photography-interest group on Facebook, where the woman asked for help to have the stepson removed from some of the images.
“Is there any way ya’ll could remove the kid to the right in these pictures? He’s my stepson and I love these pictures of us together but I also didn’t get any good ones with just [my] two without him,” the “evil stepmother” wrote online according to Daily Mail.
The comments on Reddit show the many horrified reactions to the woman’s post.
“This genuinely made me sad. Imagine how that child felt. I bet he noticed he wasn’t included like the other two,” one user wrote.
“This is absolutely deplorable,” another wrote.
“It looks like she posed just to make it easier to remove him from the pictures too . . . I don’t want her near children in general if she treats a child like this,” a third commenter said.
Following her online crucifixion, the woman added an edited disclaimer to her note saying, “I love my stepson but I do want some without him in them.”
