I grew up in Mabopane, Pretoria as an only child. I attended St Mary’s DSG from grade 1 to 12. I then went to Rhodes University and completed a BA Honours in Drama, specialising in acting, directing and applied theatre.

I’ve always been interested in acting and the performing arts. Since I was a little girl I’d put on shows and skits for my friends and family. When I was in grade 6 or 7, I was on stage during a dress rehearsal for a play called Shake Ripple and Roll and all I could remember was ‘I’ve never been this happy in my entire life, this is what I want to do forever’ and well, I did it.

My beauty routine includes always making sure I remove my make-up. I ensure my skin is always in great condition by cleansing, toning and occasionally exfoliating. I always moisturise generously! Most importantly, is using sunscreen. I use SPF 50 and apply that regularly during the day. I also make sure to drink at least three litres of water a day.

The five fashion items I can’t live without are my handbag, shoes, watch, sunglasses and a good hoodie. I absolutely love and need all of these items. They spice up any outfit I’m wearing and create a holistic look that I can chop and change any time. A great pair of sunglasses is definitely one of the most important things for me, and I’m creating a really awesome collection at the moment.

I’m well aware of the many challenges people living with Albinism face. I’ve been blessed and privileged to have parents who strategically and purposefully put me in inclusive environments where people were extremely open-minded and accepting of different kinds of people from all walks of life. This meant that I did not experience many challenges. This has allowed me, a woman living with Albinism, to be extremely confident in my skin. I engage with the world from a place of worthiness and that has truly helped me overcome any potential challenges.

As a woman and advocate for female empowerment, the femicide rate in SA makes me feel extreme rage and confusion. I don’t understand nor do I think we ever should understand why this is happening. It needs to stop. We need to understand what’s going on, and why this is such an epidemic in South Africa? What is our government, legislature and judiciary not doing or what should they be improving on? If we don’t begin to understand that legislation needs to be malleable and able to deal with these issues like femicide in a practical ground level way, we will see it increase and become even worse. Lord have mercy.

In an ideal world, women... would be free to be themselves without the fear of their lives being threatened or prematurely taken away.

I love creating fun and eccentric videos showcasing different characters or personas I’ve created. I’ve always been that person and my friends all know that. But recently, I’ve begun to share that with my supporters online, which has been so much fun. My supporters have been so receptive, they love my ponytail song and I couldn’t be happier!

The one thing I fear is not reaching my full potential. I’m currently writing and producing my own TV series and starring in a new film too. I’m excited to return to screen. I’m also the Brand Ambassador for Kotex
