Have you been participating and hoping to see Beyoncé, because judging by social media buzz, the buildup is real!

The Global Citizen Festival is about bringing global change but we know the B-Hive is in full effect because Beyoncé alongside JAY-Z, Cassper Nyovest, D’banj, Ed Sheeran, Femi Kuti, Pharrell Williams & Chris Martin, Sho Madjozi, Tiwa Savage, Usher and Wizkid will headline the first Global Citizen Festival in Africa.

The festival is about more than just the global superstar and icons that will be performing. Your tweets, emails and calls have assisted with the top 5 Global Goals, which are:

•      POVERTY: (Global Goal 1): End all forms of poverty everywhere

•      ZERO HUNGER (Global Goal 2): End all forms of hunger and malnutrition

•      HEALTH (Global Goal 3): Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages

•      EDUCATION (Global Goal 4): Ensure every child has access to a quality education

•      GIRLS & WOMEN (Global Goal 5): End all forms of discrimination against women and girls everywhere to ensure that #SheIsEqual.

Since the 18th of July, Global Citizens in South Africa, Swaziland and Lesotho, have taken 3.71 million actions, totaling 33 423 actions per day, or roughly 1392 actions per hour, which is huge!

Not only music stars, but also world leaders, are also participating in making the difference against poverty. Among them are His Excellency Paul Kagame, His Excellency Jomo Kenyatta, Mrs Graca Machel, Dr Jim Kim, Ambassador Birx, His Excellency Benedict Ayade, the Honourable Baroness Scotland and Dr Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka who have confirmed their attendance at the Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100.

You might have not won your tickets yet but keep tweeting; you still have a few days left!

Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100, 2 December in Johannesburg, at the FNB Stadium.
