With everything that’s happening in the country right now, a lot of women are coming together to fight for a cause that will benefit women for generations to come.

Every woman is pulling her weight to be part of the change they want to see, and that’s exactly what Kgopedi Lilokoe did with this moving sermon to other women in the Anglican Church.

Twitter user, Themba Rumbu posted a video of Kgopedi’s sermon and wrote “May she multiply”, and we totally agree. Speaking to the women in the congregation, Kgopedi made some points that really hit home.

“The ‘pull her down’ syndrome that you always complain about, practice instead of preaching about it. When you are sitting in a group that is plotting to pull somebody down, be that lone voice that doesn’t let it happen, and say ‘this isn’t it’ who knows what you’re changing, who knows what you’re starting,” she said.

“Black women, you’re on your own, no one is coming to save you. The laws of this land don’t necessarily have your best interest at heart, the patriarchal society we live in doesn’t either. What that says is that you’re all you have, the best thing you can do is to build a sisterhood.”

Kgopedi continued to make examples of how there are many women who are raising children on their own, and those women need to help each other with their children. She also mentioned that women who are in managerial positions should help lift other women’s careers up where they can.

“Help each other prepare for interviews, tell each other about employment opportunities at your workplaces. Don’t be content with being the only woman in certain boardrooms, you’re outnumbered there, you need your sisters,” she emphasized.
